There are two different types of tests that you can run with the OBD II CAN Deluxe Scan Tool. You can do either a running test, which means the car is running while the diagnostics are being done. Plug the CENTECH scanner into the OBD-II port under your dashboard, on the driver's side. You will plug the device into this outlet. You then need to turn the ignition to the on position, without starting the car.
Depending on the type of test, you can either get the read out now, or start your car. All the readouts are stored onto the device. You can run the test and get the readout. Then you take those codes and interpret them so that you can clearly see what the issue is.
