Last week I introduced you to Synchronous Scrolling in Microsoft Word while viewing two documents. As promised, this week’s post will focus on performing that task in Microsoft Excel.
To illustrate my problem: I have a docx-File with three paragraphs and a spreadsheet. Every paragraph and the spreadsheet contains the word 'test'. I want a version there via Strg+F the word 'test' can only be found in the third paragraph and the spreadsheet.
On the View tab, in the Window group, click New Window.
On the View tab, in the Window group, click View Side by Side.
In the workbook window, click the worksheets that you want to compare.
To scroll both worksheets at the same time, click Synchronous Scrolling in the Window group on the View tab.
The application gets the scrolling input, but if I just scroll slowly and steadily down the page in Word, the document will jump up and down very quickly and actually scroll UP, to the point where if I continue to scroll down, I'll end up at the top of the page. Same problem with Bridge, trying to scroll sideways in the filmstrip view. Then, all you need to do is scroll down the page using your mouse or trackpad as you’re reading. Congratulations, you’ve effectively created your personal teleprompter! How to Adjust the Default Settings Here are the easy steps to make the change to your Word doc: On Word’s top menu bar, click on View from the Home menu. To scroll both documents at the same time, click Synchronous Scrolling in the Window group on the View tab. If you don't see Synchronous Scrolling, click Window on the View tab, and then click Synchronous Scrolling. To close Side by Side view, click View Side by Side in the Window group on the View tab. If you don't see View Side by Side, click Window on the View tab, and then click View Side by Side. This is true PC to PC, PC to Mac, Mac to Mac, and Mac to PC. Microsoft Word is a word processor that has text that flows, unlike a PDF or page layout program. Any difference in font or printer driver from one machine to another has the potential to affect spacing, breaks, window & orphans, paragraphs, etc.
Open both of the workbooks that contain the worksheets that you want to compare. Note: One workbook will be displayed and the other workbook will be minimized until the next step.
On the View tab, in the Window group, click View Side by Side.
In each workbook window, click the sheet that you want to compare.
To scroll both worksheets at the same time, click Synchronous Scrolling in the Window group on the View tab.
NOTE: This option is available only when View Side by Side is turned on.
